Futsal League 2019

Jouons Winter Futsal League started in 2012, to accommodate and provide a healthy atmosphere for youth players to learn and improve their skills during the cold months of the year. It brings a holistic view to staying active and continuing soccer development. Jouons professional coaches facilitate the structured technical warmups before each game is played.

Jouons futsal is one of the largest youth futsal leagues in the Washington DC area. Futsal is a version of soccer played indoors on turf or basketball like surfaces (walls are not used). Futsal promotes creativity, technique, ball control and passing in small spaces. This allows players to continue to enhance their soccer skills even in the cold months.

KICKOFF: All kickoffs are indirect kicks taken from midfield, and may be taken in any direction.

THREE (3) YARD RULE: In all dead ball situations, restarts, including game start and halftime start, defending players must stand at least three (3) yards away from the ball. The League
FORMAT: 10 – 15 minutes will consist of a clinical warm-up with Jouons Staff members in preparation for competition (Teams are encouraged to be on time, so not to miss out on this). 40 – 45 minutes will be used to compete; broken up into two half’s of 20 – 25 minutes, with a 2 minute half-time period.

GAME DURATION: The game consists of two 20-25 minute (depending on age group) halves separated by a two-minute half-time period. Games tied after regulation play shall end in a tie. The match length may be shortened due to team tardies, and related obstacles.

SCORING: Scores will be posted on Monday’s following weekend play. U6 age group scores will neither be posted nor recorded.

NO-Shows: If a team is overly tardy (10 minutes) or does not show, the game will proceed as an inter-quad friendly and will be adjusted as the team’s players arrive.

Sideline Ethics: Parents, coaches, and players alike are encouraged to support the development nature of this league. We wish for this to be an environment promoting growth and not the mere short-term gain of winning.

FAIR PLAY: Players, coaches, and spectators are expected to act in the nature of “Fair Play” at all times.
